    Bye Bye Tobacco

well, i've no stopped smokin (well, smokin tobacco ). i've just finished my last ever pack of rolling baccy, and i never intend on smoking tobacco in any way, mean or form in the future. i just gotto try and last it out now without goin mad, hittin someone in a nicotine-deprived-rage and to resist the temptation of smokin another cancer stick again. peace.

If you're serious, I wish you luck.

It won't be easy, but after a few weeks you will actually start to feel better, and, best bit of all, start to really taste your food.

    Good luck

    Aye, join us fellow quitters
I haven't quit the good stuff either, but regretfully there's none to be had round here - just the poison that the scum peddle - I'm sure a bong is healthier than skinnin up with rolling backie - BTW what WAS your brand? I was a Drum and Samson with blue rizla man myself - always tried to dodge paying duty, but even those prices were going up, £5 per 50g last time.

EDIT : 9 Days and counting

    Well done.

I use to smoke Old holburn(sp?) Golden vagina and Drum as well. I gave up about 5 years ago and have never looked back.

It's only then you realise how bloody awful it stinks out your clothes, hands and house.

And yes, i don't think it is hard to give up as well. As long as you really want to quit i think most people can. My mum stopped after 55 years of smoking and she though it would be impossible.

It's never too late to quit and you feel the benefit straight away.

drum for me. used to pay £30-ish for 10 50g packs . that lasted me months. i used to use blue rizla and swan slimline filters in the little tubes.
bongs are healthier, as some (not all) of the tars and carcinogenics present in the good stuff is absorbed by the water. i use my glass pipe for that now, or little skinny ones with little rizla n no baccy

not had a fag yet today, i'm startin to twitch a bit and i'm toking on an empty pen tube and gettin through Polos sooo fast, haha. college was hard earlier, cos nearly everyone smokes, so i couldn't really escape from it. i managed tho. work tonight will be the next challenge for me.

peace, and best wishes to all others tryin to quit.

It was the adverts on the TV at the time that made me give up! Give it 6 months, and you'll become a reformed smoker! I think its a good idea to give up now, after all in a few years time i reckon a lot more places will be non smoking.

it's very hard to give up, I have smoked going on 17 years now and find it hard.
Someone left a note on a piece of cake in the fridge that said, "Do not eat!". I ate the cake and left a note saying, "Yuck, who the hell eats paper ?

yeh, I expect its much harder to give up if you've been doing it for a fairly large fraction of your life. I think if I'd carried on I wouldnt be able to stop now. It helps if you have a partner that detests smoking though, I think that was my final push.
