I was going to say, he gets this mega fast internet, then gives it to the one person that will never use it....
Thats just crazy !!
It's bad enough waiting for a 700 meg file to build after it's downloaded, but just imagine how long a 40 gig file would take lol.
Think how fast your 30GB per month Fair Use Limit would last
Amazing. And all I've got is a just about usable 1mbps.

LOL, good one there
it's not like she'll ever reach that speed. most servers wont even transmit data down the line at that speed. although, she could host alot of servers. you know if this was a isp in the uk giving it to someone here, it'd be 40gbps down 1mbps up. when will they give us full up/down speeds!!!
bah and ive only just got "up to 8mb"
its still amazing how far behind we are though
In 2003 the internet was estimated at 532,897 Terabytes in size...
In that time you could probably add 50% again on top of that, if not more..
So if we say it's currently at 900ish (which I'm sure is too low)
multiply by 8 to get bits.. 6.4 million Terabits..
divide that by number of terabits/sec download rate = 159,869,100 secs..
= 2,664,485 minutes..
= 44,408 hours
= 1,850 days
= about 5 years to download the internet..
Let's just hope she doesn't get a knackered floppy on the last part of the multipart archive

40GB/s
And this is her new PC...Jeez even DDR3 RAM can't handle that amount of data...what system does she have...
