Pure class, and one of my all time fave "sci fi" films

I particularly like the lighting effects (day to night and back again in one scene), and the change from Bela Lugosi (who died during the shooting of the film) to one of thew crew's wife's dentist as the "sad old man".

Yep, just one of the legendary facts about this movie. Lugosi died, so Ed just used some stock footage of him walking out of some bushes (in broad daylight), and cut these with footage of his wifes chiropractor, holding his cloak up in front of his face. Its Ed Wood genius.

Pretty sure one scene changes from day to night about 8 times, with the police finally arriving at the end of it in a completely different car.

The fat ghoul getting stuck in his grave when he is supposed to be rising from it is great as well.

Absolutely great fun:

One things for sure...Inspector Clay's dead. Murdered. And somebody's responsible.

Although, that said, I saw Dungeons & Dragons 2 recently, and that's beginning to rival Plan 9 in my affections, as far as awful...no I mean REALLY awful...films are concerned. I actually watched it twice with a sort of horrified fascination...it's a bit like not being able to tear your eyes away from slow motion footage of a train wreck.
