Has anyone else tried the new eBay search system?

I was included in the 5% of the community that were to test out the new interface and i can honestly say that i opted out within 10 minutes of using it. It doesn't yield relevant results, it takes twice as long to load up pages and quite frankly is crap.

Take this example. I ran a search for test tubes using the new UI, about 10 results came up - the majority being CD's. With the old system, about 70 results were returned, almost all lab related. That's a bit retarded if you ask me. The main problem being that almost all the old sub-categories have been removed without any replacement, so hundreds of thousands of auctions that have been made in the last few days seem to have just vanished and it's almost impossible to find them.

I really do hope that eBay do something about it before they make it set in stone in autumn.

I noticed this today as I have bookmarked searches that I run regularly.

I find the usability absolutely horrible - on the left hand side you used to have ready options for specifying price range, location, or item specifics. Now you have to enter the end tree of the category before you can choose these options and you have to do it through a menu that doesn't allow you to scroll up and down the results.

It also used to be easier to scroll and read through the results in the old system - the new system/UI is, as you say, utter retarded.

The old system is still in place for some searches (like finding similar items from your "my ebay" page) - I wonder if there's anyway of forcing to use the old system? I heard that if you can spoof your browser to something old (like IE 5) then it uses the old system, but I'm not sure how that would work?
