My opinion on the subject

It's not just about blood and violence, chaps - although that's what some people solely go into a pit for. I wrote a short passage about moshing and pits at gigs (specifically hardcore gigs) a month ago on another board I post on... I'll post it if anyone's interested in reading my take on it. Well... I would, but the band whose board it is are changing servers! Hoho! I think it'll be a few days til it's back.

Might lead to an interesting discussion with any fellow pit-goers.

The mosh style is usually relative to the genre of music. The stereotypical heavy metal mosh is the classic hair windmilling/jumping into eachother/getting yourself bruised. Whereas in a hardcore pit, you'll find that the mosh style is alot more relational to various forms of dance, with a few punches/kicks thrown in there. Get yourself to a ska gig (eugh! Why would you??) and you'll find that people "skank" alot more than bumping into eachother (although the bumping into eachother is still a common factor in ska, and most other genres).

Fingers crossed that the pooheads backed up the database before they moved servers... I'll cry if they didn't...

ha ha ha, omg i feel so ashamed to be associated with the same type of music they listen to. I cant believe they were dancing in the middle of the street, and trying to get money for it. they had some nice moves tho, but please reserve them for the pit. loserxcore to the max!
