Re: The I.T. Crowd - New Series.

It was better than most of the episodes from the first series, but only had 4 or 5 funny moments.
Some of the jokes/gags are really poor though.

Re: The I.T. Crowd - New Series.

I have to disagree with a lot on this thread and agree with Clunk, it was fab I enjoyed the last series, it was funny but daft at the same time (my type of humour) but last night was the best one yet. They did take it out the office, I think probably just to break it up abit, but both Roy and Moss crack me up.

Well done C4, roll on next episode!

You can see the Digital form of S4C on Sky channel 134 (I think) but it won't include anything English like this.

First series was pretty good, not amazing.

This ep I thought was crap up until Roy got caught in the disabled toliets, then it picked up.

Re: The I.T. Crowd - New Series.

I had really high hopes for this but found the first series kind of disappointing.

That said, of the episode just shown I found the bit where you see moss behind the bar for the first time really really funny.

Probably not what you want (faffing is a hobby of my superego), but I'd probably:

Pull off the Toppy with Altair.

Trim & remove commercials with either Video Redo Plus or (my now preferred) Womble MPEG Video Wizard (neither of these are free I'm afraid unless you go the eye patch & parrot route), exporting as mpeg (in the process they'll both clean up any errors in the transport stream, which is important if your reception is less than perfect).

Once you're used to the software, for a 30min prog with one commerical in the middle, the above will take you about two minutes.

At this point, in the past I'd have thrown the result at AutoGordianKnot. Probably still fine for xvid & totally faff free - it really is auto. Also 100% free.

Now If I wanted xvid output, I might go with Megui (which will happily do xvid), but that's as I transcode to mp4 with h.264/aac which it suports via x264 & other free tools. Again, all free, but a bit more faff. Still, once you get a clue & learn to use it, it's fairly quick & can be low faff after you've set it up the way you want.

OTOH if you're open to h.264, want low faff, almost as good quality as x264 & don't mind paying, Nero Recode is very low on faff. Fwiw it'll also output its own mpeg4 simple profile (the family including xvid) in mp4, though personally I'd not bother as xvid is the definitive mpeg sp codec.

I've got the re run of series one on our Toppy & am waiting for all of series two, before I apply the above to archive them.
