Re: How much is your Mortage/Rent per month?

the interest rate has nearly doubled in 18 months ???

That can't be right, its only at 5.75 - no way was it under %3 in 18 months
    It is Inevitable.....

£400 pm incl the insurance on a 56K mortgage. Remortgaged 3 years ago. Got 25k saved up looking to pay it off in 5-6 years. Saving average 5k a year so should do it!

Re: How much is your Mortage/Rent per month?

Do you have the savings in a seperate account? are you offsetting?

Instead of having a 56K mortage and 25K savings that are seperate, you will probabl be better dumping a load of that into your mortgage as soon as you can instead of waiting until you can pay it off in one go.

I was playing around with the RBoS mortgage calculator the other night. If i was to increase my payments to 500/month i could pay mine off in 8 years, saving about 15K in interest.

Re: How much is your Mortage/Rent per month?

I wish I was lucky enough to be paying under £500 a month. Sadly it looks like I bought at the peak of the housing boom.

Currently paying £890 a month on a fixed rate mortgage. That's for a one bedroom flat about 2 minutes walk from Stratford (London) station.

I'm planning to re-mortgage once the fixed rate period ends in just over 2 years time. I've got a bond expiring just before then that should pay off a fair chunk of the mortgage.

Banks and building societies are really milking it. All this large amount of money being paid out everymonth by peeps is really depressing .

Re: How much is your Mortage/Rent per month?

    £1034:50 and rising!

Got 10 years left, not missed a payment yet.

Keep thinking I'll pay a bit extra each month but have none left when the time comes.

3 kids, a wife, cats, goldfish, 3 cars, £140 gas, £60 lecy, £145 c/tax, £70 water rates, £50 (tv, tele, broadband), mobiles, lottery, food, computers, hdtv etc, etc, etc.

    Modern living I'm afraid.

With 3 kids - lights, computers, ps2, xbox, tv's always left on.

I sometimes leave the hob on (gas ) .

Re: How much is your Mortage/Rent per month?

£1213.33 per month for a 2 bed flat

My mate and I each put in £800 a month to cover everything, which is more than we need but it means we get a couple of "free" nights out a month out of our joint bank account.
