    scam warning

This is mainly aimed at those who work in retial or have their own business.

A person is sending round letters purporting to be from the data protection agency, this no longer exists and is now known as the 'Information Commissioner's Office'.

In this letter they claim that your business is not registered with them and that failure to be registered can result in a large fine. The letterhead is very authentic looking. The catch is that in order to register you must send off the form attached and a cheque for £135.

Rip these letters up, its a complete scam.

Thanks, always comforting to get these scam warnings. True as it may be a common-sense thing a majority of the time.

    Sometimes you are caught unaware...
