    Damn South africa rocks

Just got back, need a holiday after doing 3 weeks seeing it all, been up 30 hrs straight with the nightflight and not being able to sleep, tired as hell. Smiling to myself as one of the largest adverts in heathrow is the Intel Hexus.net quote for C2D, can't remember ever not using hexus for this long, but now sleep beckons

    Pictures etc to follow soon.

    Wicked mate

I went to SA in 2001 for three weeks - two weeks in cape town and another in a game reserve. Loved every second of it. Did you visit the penguins?

I spent 13½ yrs there . Lying on the beach in Sandy Bay getting stoned is more fun than motoring through Mannenberg at night, that's for sure.

    Re: Damn South africa rocks

I love South Africa! I've been 4 times (I think) and all being well I'll be back in 2010 for the World Cup.

I really should dig out some photos when I get back home and shove them online.

Can't say I'm surprised. On of the lasting memories I have of Cape Town is a flyover that went over a couple of busy road junctions but they ran out of money half way through the project so they stopped. It's literally a road to nowhere.

It was a joke back in the 70's, but apparently it's now a landmark .

    Re: Damn South africa rocks

When we went for the first time we were using it as a landmark incase we got lost. The first time I noticed it we were sitting in traffic and I was looking about, something caught my eye and it was that - looks quite odd sitting there in the middle of the city.

That Guardian article mentions a restaurant called 'La Perla.' It's well worth visiting, the seafood there is fantastic!
