    Text messages + websites.

Anybody know the ins and outs of automating text message sending from a website?
(and by this I mean texting a customer who requests it automatically - not finding a website that allows me to send them for free)

    I'd like to know:
    1) What/who is good to use
    2) What will I need
    3) What the costs are
    4) How does it link into asp or php

    Cheers in advance,

Its quite an old site , but one of the things I used years ago was from this site - He provides an APi to allow large scale messaging.

Most are very easy, to use.

M:Science Pricing Options - Secure SMS Gateway, GSM Modem or PSTN/TAP

are the people used to use at one point, via a WebService (very easy from Asp.Net) but they also have SOAP which is again a wounderfully simple interface.

Everyone with an once of sense will have a nice WebService API.

Except that scripting it in PHP will make you want to poke hot daggers into your eyes.

Thanks for these - I presume there are some that bill you by the text, as opposed to buying a bulk before>

Some of them also resell the list of phone numbers that have messages sent to them to advertising/spam companies unfortunately. Always check privacy policy/TOC
