    I like that idea!!!
Just a small issue....I don't know about many 'other' progams, other than Firefox.... And if I DO reccomend firefox, I'll probably have to give information on how to fix the memory leak...I found a great page for that ages ago, that I'll have to look up...

I'll also do the jargon-buster-thing. Its suprising how little people know about computers!

Good news!! I got given the games section aswell, so my very own little Orange Box review is going up, along with some stuff on big game releases for PC, PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360!!

Ask people to write in suggestions of things they'd like you to cover.

    Re: Common Computer user annoyances

But.. who is honestly going to complain about firefox having memory leaks after using IE? These are people who probably don't know what's inside their computer, just that it'll run hotmail, gmail, myspace and facebook and possibly Limewire too.

I've got no problems with it, sure it takes longer to load, but simply ease of use outweighs the bugs - plus 3 is out soon which might help a bit.

How can I stop people from leaving fingerprints on my screens?

They seem to think that because a protein structure render looks pretty it's ok to suddenly start stroking it...

Or were you after annoyances that computer users have, not annoyances *with* computer users?

    Re: Common Computer user annoyances

Hows about TEACHING people the real names that things are.

It's not a thingymawhatsit near the wire for your internet, it's a USB port located under the LAN connection.

Oh and it's not PCC, ADP or that 'orange slot' for your graphics, it's PCI, AGP and the newer PCI-E x16 varient as well.

I think I need a lie down now in a darkened room...

    Re: Common Computer user annoyances

I know a few n00b users at the moment that are getting .docx files off people with Word 2007 and getting confused on how to open them.

    Told them to install this

    Re: Common Computer user annoyances

    OK, so I have :

    -Mini-reviews of firefox and opera
-Jargon busting of many common PC terms
-A large section, in CAPSLOCKED, BOLDED, UNDERLINED ITALICS telling everyone how bad microsoft is, and that they should move to ubuntu
    -Small section on VoIPs
-Some common sense security stuff to avoid malware etc.

Not all of this will be able to go in, but thanks for the ideas!! I'm also going to do chicken's idea of asking what they want, meaning that I have more than enough to fill my page.
