That school is full of stuck up little kids.
Seems mummy's and daddy's £7,500 per year seems to give them the right to dictate who has a job and who gets fired does it?

I had this is an open tab and was meaning to post it in QT. Its bloody disgusting.
Presumably she knew her stuff to get a job there. Her previous job as an actor should have no influence on her ability to teach. She could have been in a loan advert as easily as it was a 'sexy' advert (That was not even broadcast - It was marketing material sent to clients only).
I'm amazed they can get away with suspending her, what exactly has she done wrong?

Guys you clearly miss the damage to the reputation of the school with them employing someone who has done this. They can charge £7500 a year because of the reputation, anything that sullies the reputation would be resolved immediately.
Yes it sucks that she's going to likely lose her job, but i'm sure that she won't struggle getting another one.

I had a massive crush on an English teacher, affectionately known as Miss Wobbly by most of us back then.
Recently, it turned-out she is now the stepmother of a girl I worked with. That was a bit weird.
I still would though.

Well, let's not jump to conclusions, she can be sacked if her contract contains a clause about bringing the school into disrepute. Not to mention she can most certainly be made redundant.

How has it brought the school into disrepute though? They have only brought it on themselves.
It was an *acting* job. She wasn't selling her body on the street (not that I think that would have anything to do with them anyway).
How the heck does her role in a past advert reflect on what shes like in real life?
I mean, Tom cruise comes across as semi-intelligent in a film for example.
Headteacher Andrew Chicken said the school was looking into the case

How is it bringing the school into disrepute, when it was a perfectly legal job (that many people aspire to) that she had prior to ever becoming a teacher, and presumably one which she had on her CV or at least had not tried to hide from her employer? This isn't 1920 - being an actress is a perfectly respectable vocation.
Anyway, she can come and work for me - I won't hold it against her. Her past, I mean.

Quite so. I mean, if you're convicted of dishonesty, or if you're on a blog bad-mouthing the company, or if you're slandering competitors on company notepaper, etc, then fair enough, there's an argument to be made for disciplinary action. There is, certainly, the ability to bring a company into disrepute by private actions out of employment hours.
But this is acting. It's an advert. It might be a poor taste one, and apparently was never even released/used, but it's still just acting. And I've seen FAR more explicit or suggestive material in mainstream movies or national TV shows.
It strikes me that (assuming, as always, the actual facts are as portrayed in these media reports, which we can by no means take for granted) that if the school actually do take disciplinary action, then it's about pandering to the prejudices of parents, and not about the actions of this poor woman.
If she does lose her job, I hope she takes tribunal action and if she does, I hope she wins. Unfortunately, taking such action isn't always a bright career move, even if you do win.
