This is bunny and friends. He is fed up waiting for everyone to help him out, and decided to help himself instead!
Me and the Missus will ignore the "going out" part as usual this year.
Who wants to follow the "sheeple" out in a packed restaurant with everyone else paying inflated prices for the "romance" of it? lol
We just make sure we go out for a nice quiet slap up meal the week after when we want to go out
This Valentine's day is my eldest daughter's 21st - yay!
Me and the missus are seperated - yay!
Big party this Saturday, I be doing the Disco
Personally, I'm not very keen. We've done the restaurant thing a couple of times, and it's always naff (crowded and overpriced restaurant full of other couples - ugh). And because February's crap, Taxi companies take the piss and she always dresses up a bit too much (specifically: silly shoes), getting home is always really miserable.
Anyway, it turns out that I have the best girlfriend in the world ever, because last year I got away with cooking her dinner at home. And this year she's organising something. When I discretely offered to carry a pair of her trainers for the journey home, she replied:
"Actually we don't need to dress up this year, and we're not going for a meal, so we'll want to grab a pasty on the way there". Now I have no idea where we're going or what we're doing, but if I get to wear jeans and not sit in a restaurant, I'm happy
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.
Shan't be bothering with Valentines so much, this year. However, we do have a bunch of flat pack furniture being delivered on the 14th, so a romantic evening of allen screws and expletives is in order, I think.
Saying that, however - it's our 6th month wedding anniversary on the 21st and I've got a lovely set of aberdeen angus rib-eyes that'll be chomped down by candlelight!
Hmm havent bothered with valentines for a long time tbh, I know Jon loves me, he knows I love him, when you've been together for so long love runs deeper than a cheesy card or a poxy bunch of flowers
( although choklit never goes amiss )
IMHO it's how you treat someone the rest of the year that counts, not just for 1 day, I get treated with love and respect every day, and so does he
And he brings home wine and choklit which is always good
I don't see the problem with sending someone a card, or buying some flowers or chocolates for valentines.
The whole industry built up round the day is crass and far too commercialised for my liking though. Special menus in resteraunts as well as the inflated proces is a rip off.
I wouldn't go OTT even for the love of my life (doesn't exist as far as I can tell), but it is another good excuse to buy someone a present. I like buying people presents, especially girls
I bought my gf some underwear
More of a present from me to me though
I have never bothered with Valentine's Day, and I 'spect I never will. Only time it's come close to meaning something was when someone wrote "IT'S VALENTINE'S DAY TODAY!!" in my diary
Actually, I tell a lie. I ONCE bought a rose for a girl I fancied at school. Gave it to her, got a kiss (turned crimson...). End of.
But the amount of people who sent cards to themselves at school... it's all a waste of money IMO, if you want to show affection, then do so, you don't need to be forced to on one specific day of the year.
I shall be getting my missus the same thing I get her every year... nowt!
I mean seriously, I think its a load of crap, I don't need Clinton bloody cards telling me when to show affection. I will do that on my own spontainiously thanks very much.
HEXUS FOLDING TEAM It's EASY
Well for the first year EVER I get to gloat...
We're off to Paris for 3 nights on Thursday and will be having our valentines dinner at Alcazar.
And I'm very VERY excited about it!!
Sorry to everyone who isn't looking forward to the 14th or who won't be doing anything, lord knows I've been there in the past.
If you're not living on the edge, you take up too much room
