I had a run in with a bus driver the other night.
I sometimes get the bus up the road to my mates house and from the stop at the end of my street to his street it is usually £1.50. So 1 night I get on the bus as normal and states my destination and puts the cash down.
Next thing I heard him say " sorry not enough, it's £2.50 to that destination. Taken aback by this I asks him if he was really sure (as I had tickets from the days before in my pocket) and he was adimant that it was £2.50. Rather than just go okay fair enough I turned to him and said "ARE you really sure? Where are you setting the boarding and departing destinations on the system" It turns out that the frackin fool was setting it so I got on the bus 3 miles down the road in Swinton as opposed to the stop which is named after my street.
So I proved him wrong and that it was £1.50, but rather than hold his hands up and say he was in the wrong, he shouted I'll do it this time, but next time it's <naughty word beginning in F> £2.50 and if you don't like it then walk instead!
This is not the first time this has happened though. Why is it some bus drivers are extremely helpful, yet the majority of them try to charge over what it usually is and when you actually catch them doing this they get all arsey and whinge.
I made a complaint to First regarding this drivers actions but I feel I'll get more feedback from a dead pidgeon in honesty.
