Just posting this up to raise a bit of awareness and hopefully get some sponsorship money for a friend of mine.
One of my friends Mike is a Captain in the Royal Engineers - you may remember me posting about him a few months back. He's been serving in Afghanistan, and unfortunately was injured at the end of last year when an RPG air burst about 6 feet from him. He took shrapnel in both arms and legs, and was in a pretty bad way for some time. He's back on his feet now, but is still left with some paralysis in his limbs. It's a miracle he's walking at all - and he puts a lot of it down to the help he received from the 'Help for Heroes' charity.
As a thank you to this wonderful charity, Mike is going to attempt the Bataan Death march. This is a full 26.2 mile desert marathon in New Mexico under extreme conditions, and he's doing it in military gear with a 35lb bergen on his back - and aiming for a sub 6 hour time. This event is more than a challenge for someone fully able, let alone someone who was held together with staples a few months ago! More details of the event can be found here:

Please dig deep and help sponsor Mike, so this brilliant charity can continue helping our wounded heros and their families. You can sponsor him directly by clicking here:
