Where can I find some good career (advice) sites UK?

Hallo hexus.net,

I'm still a newbie here, on hexus.net, as well as the UK. I've just moved from the States about 1 month ago.

I'm a computer science graduate from the States, and naturally I'm looking for work in the IT field. I don't have any work experience in the field, only my degree.

The only problem is, I don't know what's in demand here. I also don't know where to begin and what areas of expertise are HOT at the moment (networking?)

Are certifications (MSCEs, CISCO, ORACLE etc) worthwhile? Will they lead me to find work?

I'm trying to find a good direction in the IT field to focus on, so I can have a decent job and a career.

Are there any UK based sites that discuss IT careers, perferably w/ forums so that I can learn from people's experiences?

go to the UK version of google and search for UK based sites only.

look particularly for recruitment consultants / agencies.

they'll give you a heads up as to whats in demand as well as possibly placing you.

Have a look at the following sites, they're general graduate sites rather than only IT, but are pretty good.

This one is great, lots of advice on CV's, training, further study etc as well as jobs themselves. I think you have to register to use all of it though.

Just stick in some search terms etc and have a look.
