Quite agree that this will "probably" affect her. She should get the correct level of support. But I doubt her parents will let her go out alone or lead a "normal" life now.
BUT we do not know what happened while she was held captive.
All seems very suspect now...

The main thing is, she's alive. Any damage can be (hopefully) repaired.
Yes, I suspect we're going to hear some interesting things once this moves on to the charges stage but I'm really pleased they found her alive and at least comparatively well.
Lets face it. That little girl is better off being adopted and taken away from that family whether they had anything to do with this or not.
She has had a hard enough time as it is. Get her away from 'Ma Clampett' and the rest of the herd and she will have a better chance of forgetting this epsidode and making a good life for herself.
When the community they live in found out the girl was alive, the locals had bonfires in the street and i am certain i saw moonshine being handed around.
You know... what I find weird is that kids go missing everyday but every once in a while the media goes into a frenzy over a missing kid and it seems that most of the time the kid is female and white. Can't remember the last missing boy, or the last missing Asian kid.

as for other race kids, remeber what the daily mail reader has learn, asian's die picking cockles on bays, and all others are muggers.
there is actually an element of true in this, people have found that symetrical faces, blue eyes and the like make people trust and take sympathy more.
