Open letter to the Child Benefits Agency

    Dear Sir,

Thank you for investigating my case where you claim you have overpaid the child benefit.

Once again I assure you that we received no prior correspondence from your office about the child benefit changes and I note with some concern that you have absolved yourselves of any wrong doing or negligence on your part and have also stated I have no right to appeal.

In settlement of this matter I sent you a cheque for the full sum roughly 6 weeks ago.

That you have not received it is unfortunate.

However I have investigated the matter and can find no evidence of any wrong doing on my part.

I am assuming you DID receive the cheque and have since misplaced it upon receipt, just as you have assumed I did the same with your letters.

You have no right to appeal in this matter and a replacement cheque will not be sent until the original has expired.

Two can play at this game, sonny.

    Yours,

    Nick Haywood.

PS. Nice one with losing all of our personal details... and you say YOU'RE infallible in this matter? Prior evidence suggests not.

PPS. I hope you all die soon.

Re: Open letter to the Child Benefits Agency

How can they overpay child benefit?

The DSS and there little side kicks are a bunch of thick inbreds though.......they earn too much cash and do very little for it.

Civil Servants are the biggest drain on this country......far more than dole'ites/immigrants/The Welsh ( <-----dont moan , my mrs is Welsh)

Re: Open letter to the Child Benefits Agency

It was sent, in it's entirety other than the last PPS, on Monday.

The gist of the argument is that they say they wrote to us three times asking us to reconfirm the child benefit bits and bobs.

We didn't receive anything from them and now they say, because we didn't respond, that the child benefit has been stopped, so we have to pay back what they paid us.

We asked them to investigate, they did and have said that they sent out letters on certain dates and we have no right to appeal.

I received a phone call last week asking why we hadn't paid, so I told them I'd reply in writing.

The thing is, I did send off a cheque, so that's obviously lost but if it works for them, ie, proof of posting is good enough to prove I was contacted, then I'll use that in my defence too.

I have proof of posting and unlike them, I sent it recorded, so that means someone HAD to sign for it.

Not my fault if they lost it their end just as they claim no fault in us not receiving the THREE letters they claim to have sent.

The real kicker is that the whole thing can be simply cleared up by allowing us to do the child benefit update where they'll see our circumstances haven't changed so the benefit will stay exactly the same... problem solved. But that'd be far too easy now wouldn't it?
