    Power-out

We had a couple of momentary losses of power here in Clifton overnight. Once at about 3.30, and again at about 4.30.

It set off loads of house alarms and reset our alarm clock (which has battery backup... but that doesn't work if it's got the DC jack plugged into it )

However, the media centre PC has an uptime this morning of 97 days and the NAS box 101 days. The router did reset, though.

Interesting to see what the PSUs of different devices are like...

Sounds like a useful alarm clock you've got there!

    Re: Power-out

It's a really cool clock, but the power supply switchover is just a switch... so if the jack is plugged in, it will only try to run on mains.

    Pretty poor design consideration really.

    Re: Power-out

yeh my enermax 850w used to fly through small power outages without a splutter, it seems to run for about 2 seconds when u yank the mains.

the entire pc room is now protected by a 3000va UPS in the loft so i no longer have to worry about these things
