    Airsoft

*If this is in the wrong thread please move it to the correct thread*

Hello everybody - that's the pleasant stuff out of the way.

I was wondering who on here has been to any airsoft events, specifically but not limited to First and Only events.

I am attending my first event on the weekend..yippee!

I have spoken to mates who have been and there pretty useless in explaining things or being descriptive.

So as above, I was wondering who has been to an airsoft event and what they thought, also as a little extra, if you own any RIF's (Real Imitation Firearms) what are they and do you have them modded.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Airsoft

    MP5, modded quite exentsivly.
    G36C modded quite exentsivly.
    M190 as is
    KWA8 Compact as is

Knee pads are a great idea, as are a load of pyro's (i get mine from TLSFx Pyrotechnics | Airsoft Pyrotechnics | Paintball Grenades | Smoke Canisters)

Most important things its the players and the site that make it fun, there are plenty of mediocare sites, but sometimes you get a game thats most excellent.

what is it you want to know?

    Re: Airsoft

    Some nice guns there mate.

The pyro's have to be bought on site for safety reasons etc.

I will be wearing boots with knee protection which is required and other bits including gloves, haven't thought about knee pads tbh.

I just want to know as much as possible about it really, the place am going has a regular 40 - 50 people a weekend attending so numbers should be awesome.

    Re: Airsoft

Any site that won't allow tlsfx's pyros are just been profitering barstards.

my favourate site (south east) have allowed me to bring in distress flares before now for the night games

Get good goggles, (lower) face protection is good too, don't care what people say about it been superflous, we've met someone we(my nutty airsoft mate and I) dubbed "Gummy Sue" because she had few teeth on her upper mouth.

I have a seperate bit of neoprene i wear for CQB stuff, i can take it off when i get hot without taking of googs.

Gloves are always good, i go for the Hatch Operator ones (hard to get in this country) as you can still change a battery/mag with no problems whilst wearing them.

    Bring some snickers too.

    Re: Airsoft

I was wrong they only allow the use of tlsfx pyro's.

Was talking to a mate of mine who attended one of the recent events where a guy got his tooth shot out..ouch.

Am planning on wearing a full face mask and some decent gloves aswell.

Once ive been a few times, im hoping to get an M4 modded

    Re: Airsoft

be weary of the full metal ones, they're damn heavy (but nice).

i'd recomend the classic red dot sites, lasers are cool but only really visible when its dark.

Also a very birght LED tourch is excllent for dark CQB. Blinding

Make sure whatever boots your wearing are comfy, very comfy!

    Re: Airsoft

Fenix cree torches are good, some have a nasty strobe action for CQB.

Good site for brighst and sharps is
Heinnie Haynes - Knives, Pocket Tools and Accessories

ALso worth noting that the rules on buying airsoft have recently changed, they exist as a side note to firearms regulations, and some of these have just changed.

havent tried airsoft yet, but keep meaning to give it a go. My weekends tend to be taken up shooting Sec 1 firearms, including a lot of converted AR's. This mob make some nice stuff, just bloody exspensive

    Re: Airsoft

if your getting a torch, make sure you get at least 100 lumens.

something like a leatherman is also advisable.

    Re: Airsoft

I can't understand the interest in airsoft, ok you get to shoot projectiles at each other but replicating real guns.... is just sad really. I have done airsoft and hunting (real guns) and although you don't have the whole ohhh look I have a mp5 you still fire rifals as powerful as the L96, and that is way more fun than a pathetic battery powered plastic thing firing at each other.

    Re: Airsoft

anyone who says their realisim in airsoft should be shot....

its about fun. Last time i checked people coming back from shooting at their mates with real guns didn't find it fun.

The replica gun thing is to add a bit of dimension to the game, at one point last sun, i switched from my G36C (customised with elements of a K in size about it) for my MP5-N. (ie very small) the weight difference, and size difference allow me to run faster, yet its not as accurate, or as powerful as the 36. Its a trade off.

The replicas are totaly different in weight as most are mostly plastic. But its fun none the less.

    For Hatch operators Clicky
I wouldn't recommend buying a gun from WGC. They're good but because its so realistic looking you could get tied up if customs open the box. But trust me if you go once you'll never stop, it really is great fun. Enjoy yourself

    Re: Airsoft

Hmmm must give this a go at some point, have sone a bit of paintballing, but the games were designed to make the site money, rather than be fun.

Stupid question. I take it you rely on the people your shooting to be honest with hits?
