    Question Some advice please... SCSI....

I've got 2 15k U320 36Gb SCSI drives and a 10k U160 36Gb SCSI drive here with a few cables and terminators, but I'm at a loss of what the heck to do with them...

I need a new SCSI adaptor card, but sadly from looking around the 'cheap' PCIe range of cards just doesnt exist and therefore its just PCI-X (64bit PCI) which will kinda slow down the speed of the drives

I dont know what to do and I'm wondering rather than looking for a new card, I should just sell off what I've got rather than spend more and try and get them working...

Suggestions or advice would be greatfull please

Flog 'em and move onto to something that may be slower but is less hassle and expense...

That said, I still run an IDE drive in all my machines just so I don't have to faff about installing RAID drivers after a wipe and install session.

I think thats whats got to happen..

I think the cheapest PCIe card that supports raid 0 is around £350 or something daft and there's no way I'm gonna spend that much!!

What do you think the drives would be worth?? The two 15k model, I've literally just bought and they where £62 for the two.. Could I get my money back on them??

hang round on fleebay looking for an old PCIe card. I can't imagine the second hand market paying good money for them, normally their used on the 99.999% uptime environment.

Try searching Ebay for 'Adaptec SCSI' - this should give you a selection of interface cards for your drives without costing a fortune.
