    British Gas: Pricing online

    Hi guys

two weeks ago, we discussed British Gas raising prices by huge amounts, and then I found that they offered an "online only" deal called Click5 which was cheaper than the pre price rise standard rates.

    It is.

I am now signed up to it, for Dual Fuel (gas and electric) and the rates ARe cheaper than the old Standard Rates were, and much cheaper than the new raised prices.

Moreover, there is NO intention to tell anyone about these prices. There just CANT be, because today, in the post, I received British Gas' latest brochure "Energy Prices Explained" and there is no mention at all of Click5 prices.

    Standard is covered
    So is Advanced Payment
So is Zero Carbon (how on EARTH they manage zero carbon with Gas, I dunno)
So is 10% discounted Tracker price.

    But nowt about Click 5.

Thought it might help someone, anyone who like me, wants a variable rate, but is shocked to find that the same company trying to shaft them, offers a much cheaper alternative! (with a telephone number to call if sign up goes wrong online...which it did!)

    Web only my arse!

Price Fixing (/cough, love the name, sounds like a Cartel ) is popular, and might turn out to be the right thing....but it's not cheap right now, and prollly wil only pay itself back after the full term of the deal.

    Re: British Gas: Pricing online

    Fixed Elec (Eastern) 5.584 | 32.379 | 12.157
    Click 5 Elec (Eastern) 4.843 | 25.727 | 8.566

That's the difference in price per unit (left column is Economy 7, second is First tier, third is Normal rate)all are pence per kWh inc vat

    Offsetting, it's easy.

What do you need to do to change your supplier?

Can I do i completely online or do I actually need to respond via post as well?

Just wondering as I'm out of the country for the next 3 weeks.
