I can never remember which way round to do this. Thought there was a thread on who leaves feedback first, the seller or the buyer?
Which do you do?
I can never remember which way round to do this. Thought there was a thread on who leaves feedback first, the seller or the buyer?
Which do you do?
Didn't think sellers could leave feedback anymore - at least, they can't rate you.
Ideally sellers should leave feedback as soon as the funds have cleared, and buyers should leave feedback as soon as they've evaluated the product. In other words the two should be completely independant of each other so order is irrelevant.
Feedback is irrelevant in a lot of cases as most buyers just give positive feedback as soon as the item arrives before they've checked it. This becomes obvious when you look at the positive feedback people selling absolute crap get.
"Free speech includes not only the inoffensive but the irritating, the contentious, the eccentric, the heretical, the unwelcome and the provocative provided it does not tend to provoke violence. Freedom only to speak inoffensively is not worth having."
So sellers should leave first if payment is cleared?
I know there is no real protocol here, but I just want to do it right. As a buyer I leave it when things have come and check out. Normally the seller responds after I leave mine as a buyer.
Saying that sellers cant seem to leave negative now
And beware people charging a huge amount for postage then STILL underposting it, had it on the last 2 items, excuse being they didnt know about the new postal charges....their feedback seems to disagree (5 negative since I bought it from people saying the same)
Item was undersent, so I had a bill from the post office for the difference + £1 handling charge, was a whole bait and switch thing so be careful, if the item arrives underpaid, file an item not received straight away or the not as described etc..
was only £2 for both but still the principle of it...
Yes, that's what I meant - file it as item not sent at all. As far as I'm concerned I have a contract with the seller for them to deliver it to my door.
If I'm selling? Cos I've had a few buyers stiff me... saying the item never arrived has happened twice, even though I ALWAYS send RD.... but then I've already left them good feedback. So now I don't leave good feedback just because they've paid quickly after the auction has ended, that's nonsense/
Feedback is about how the WHOLE process goes, not just about someone paying straight away... so I don't leave feedback until the person at the other end is happy with the item and has said so. THAT'S when the sale is finished and thus, that's when I leave my feedback.
Erm... yeah? And?
If it was a pricey item, I might drop them a mail asking if everything is ok but I'm not going to chase someone for feedback.
If someone can be bothered to give me feedback I without fail will do the same for them, but I'm not going to blindly give feedback just because they managed to click the PayPal button within a week of winning an auction.
If they can't be bothered to leave me feedback once they've received their item, why should I leave any for them?
Yeah, I know it's the chicken/egg thing and perhaps you think my attitude sucks but after years of dealing with numpties, I've given up trying to do anything other than what works for me.
So to anyone thinking of buying from me, here's a few pointers:
All my sales are UK only, so stop asking if I'll ship to Norway or India... I accept PayPal only, so don't offer Postal Orders, Cheques or even sodding M&S vouchers. And no, I won't ship to Nigeria even if you're a church minister (though god know what you want with a second hand cat'o'nine tails) and you can take your Western Union offer and ram it.
My postal charges are spot on as I have the latest postal guides and set of scales, so no, reducing the postage for multiple items doesn't work as it's all based on weight and size... so unless you buy a load or stuff or are happy with me throwing in a couple of bricks to make Parcel Post worthwhile, it costs what it says.Ok, so I'm up exactly 12p for mailing a DVD on first class RD in a new jiffy bag... think that's stingy, YOU'RE the one arguing over 12p!
Sorry your item didn't arrive on Monday, but with the auction finishing on Sunday afternoon, when exactly was I 'sposed to post it?
Sorry you feel the item wasn't as described but what exactly were you expecting in place of a factory-reconditioned Peugeot 407 alternator? Oh, one that was completely new. No, that'd be a NEW Peugeot 407 alternator... my bad for not putting the words "THIS IS NOT A BRAND NEW PART" in the item description.
What's that? You won the auction but were bidding on two items at the same time and the other one finished cheaper so you want to back out? How about no? Oh, that's not fair? Here, have a big bag of 'So what?' and wash it down with a nice glug of 'You plebby time-waster'!
See? For those and a multitude of other reasons that make me despair for humanity's future, I only leave feedback once it's been left for me.
