ebay taxing

just wondering if you can be taxed on ebay earnins?

ok im not gonna make whatever it is, but say you earnt 4000 quid frmo a aprt time job, and sold 500 quids worth of stuff on ebay, your income that year would be 4500 quid, just over the first tax barrier

now if you earnt 4000, youd get it tax free, but 4500, youd be taxed

just wondering if youd be taxed from ther money you get frmo ebay? or whether it doesnt count or whatever, does anyone know ?

As long as your trading as a company or something on there then its a personal sale so its not including in taxable earnings as far as i know

im not trading as a company, just me on my own so wud it count ?

will be working all summer this year for 3 months and dont wanna go over 4k so im not taxed as ill be a student the rest of the year, and if i make a bit of money on there, i dont wanna be screwed over by the tax man
