Hi 0iD,
its just another way of saying the price is about to increase!
Same cost, less alcohol!
Higgs.....Out!
Isn't that pretty much the same as an Australian Schooner? The worlds most pointless measure.
Ah, now how much have I had..? Four and two thirds of a pint was it? That means I can have another five sixths of a pint or two and seven eighths bottles (assuming they're no more than 4.8% before I begin to lose focus. It said the proposal would give pubs more flexibility, but warned that people ordering two-thirds of a pint may find it harder to keep track of how much they have had to drink.
i like the continental style
500ml, 750ml etc.
Also the fact with wine that you can get 10ml if your driving, very civalised indeed.

Actually I wouldn't mind drinking 2/3rds rather than pints some times. Problem is it'll cost the same as a full pint no doubt.
Nice to see that our government can think up some legislation that affects our daily lives and isn't just a waste of time.... [/sarcasm]

I usually prefer to drink 82.6% of a pint, which I like to have served in a frying pan, and I drink by taking tiny amounts of it out with a tea spoon, tiping the tea spoon up on to a small square of silk, then sucking the drips out of the soaked silk.
Pintless, but fun.
Those poor weights and measures boys have probably been itching for something to do for years.
Employee1: "So... what's there to do today then sir?"
Boss: "Not a lot really... we've had the pound, kilo, pint and litre pretty much licked for the last few decades.... Hmm, how about a new convenient measure which is exactly 378.841 milli-litres?"
Employee1: "I truly am in awe of your genius sir."
