Will they really?

Well, its the American Elections...
Do we really think that there will be a black US President by the end of the week?

Is America still as racist as it was a few decades back, will there be a surge in voting due to it being a black vs white election, IMHO there will be more blacks voting, purely because Obama is black as well as more so called "Christian" (Read deep south rednecks) whites.

Polls put Obama 6/7 points infront but will America as a corporate power be prepaired to have a black president or will there be some sort (and I hate to use the word) of conspiracy..

If Obama gets in how long will it be before there's attempts on his life, and if so what kind of race war could it spark.

Sorry if this thread comes accross as racist, thats not my intent but I have no faith either in the good ol' U S of A or the human race...

I just wonder if he will get voted in.

Just about every non-American in the world would vote for Obama, if the Americans know this then they will surely vote for the other guy!

I think a lot of people just want the right man for the job and are sick of people playing the race card day in day out.

Not all of them

The Economist's graphs show McCain slightly ahead in Cuba, DR Congo, Algeria, and Iraq. Burma is 50/50

I dont think its a case of "playing the race card" chap, I honestly dont think that America will elect (either by itself or by conspiracy) a black president even if he's the right man for the job and the other guys a complete bastard.
The whole thing is a sham imho, its all about money, TV ratings, popularity and less about policy and whats right for the US people as a whole.

To be honest that Economist link just me lol. It's just so humbling and satisfying to see that the world isn't completely stupid presented in a statistical form. Yet amusingly about half of america are siding with the 4 countries who think McCain is the better option.

See also the less prestigious but more heavily used http://www.iftheworldcouldvote.com/results

Which shows McCain victories in Albania, Macedonia, and Niue

To be honest Trig despite the proportion of racists that will aways exist in society I think America has turned that corner and there is a fair proportion of voters (easily enough to swing the vote) that just want the guy with the right policies and the right attitude.

Obama will win.

Sadly I don't think either are the right man for the job, but Obama seems to be the lesser of 2 evils.

And we think the 2 party system here is bad!

Re: Will they really?

Is the OP suggesting though, that you have to vote for Obama or be considered a racist?

Seems to be suggesting there are 2 outcomes - Obama wins, or everyone is a racist.

I think you are still allowed to vote for McCain - its not been made illegal.

I mean, look at the poll options - Obama will win \ Everyone in America is racist.

Sorry mate, but that is *the* single worst way you could have worded the poll.

Yeah spose I could of worded it better but I'm sure your clever enough to get the actual point I was trying to make

Everything I've seen put's Obama in the lead by varying margins, does it mean he'll be the next president though..?

Re: Will they really?

I'm hoping Obama will win, but no I don't think America has outgrown it's racist past: just look at the more ridiculous accusations thrown at Obama by some of the more stupid republican supporters. Instead of a fear of "african americans", people from the middle east are the new scapegoat.

well the bookies arnt wrong that often.. and Obama is 1 / 20
McCain is 8 / 1

so the chance of Obama not winning are very slim

It will be the biggest shock since something even more shocking happened, if Obama does not win.

95% certain.
