For the record, I've got a Philips 28" widescreen. It's not flat and only 50/60Hz but I only paid £250 new for it so I can't complain. The picture quality is excellent for the price.

    Couple of minor points.....

    1) I personally prefer a black surround to a screen, rather than silver

    2) Buying from John Lewis Rox.... My friend got his TV from there, 2 years later it blew. Phoned up John Lewis, they arrange to collect it and take it for repair and leave him another TV whilst its away. Excellent service is always worth paying that couple of extra quid for.

Also same mate just bought his plasma from them - they price matched it at £3,900 and the bloke admitted that they actually bought them in at 4,250!

I bought an FX50 a few years back. Superb purchase IMHO. Great TV's...

That is a killer price as well...

i love the panasonic units, but at the time, I couldn't afford one. the philips that I've got occasionally requires tweaking. they've used odd screws to hold the speaker mounts which come loose after 6 months - it's a bit of fiddling with a long driver to tighten them up nicely.
