Depends how stongly you feel though, when I met my wife she told me she didn't want kids, to which I concurred, she also told me that if I change my mind she walks, it's a deal-breaker.

The most annoying thing we have faced (her more than me) is irritating people saying "Oh, but you're only young, you'll change your mind", my wife found an interesting response that shut people up, but not something I could post on a public message board.

Well, I swore I would never have kids when I was 21, but now at the ripe old age of 44 I have three of the monsters. Although I did eventually plan to have two after my first one was born, I got a buy one get one free offer!

Re: So, have you decided on having kids someday?

I couldn't possibly make that decision while single.

And as that seems to be a fairly permanent state of affairs, it doesn't look like there are going to be little Funkstars ("thank the lord" i hear you shout) running about for a long, long time. If ever.

My mother is disappointed in me.

Re: So, have you decided on having kids someday?

I'm not sure, and neither is my wife. She's 34 on Saturday though so I guess we'd better make up our minds at some point!

On the one hand, it'd be nice to have children to love and be proud of. On the other, they're a massive effort, my wife and I struggle a bit to look after ourselves as it is, and they're expensive- bang would go my dreams of saving up to buy a house, and a superbike, and all the other stuff I've wanted since I was a kid and am now almost in a position to start saving up for.

Not long after we got engaged my wife (fiancee as she was then) had a very late period and convinced herself- and me- that she was pregnant. After I'd got over the shock I warmed to the idea very quickly, and TBH I was a bit disappointed when it turned out she was just late.

I'm 10 years and 4 children to late for this question!
Someone left a note on a piece of cake in the fridge that said, "Do not eat!". I ate the cake and left a note saying, "Yuck, who the hell eats paper ?

Re: So, have you decided on having kids someday?

I don't really get any choice, given wifey. I'm not at all a baby person, and don't feel ready for that kind of thing yet, but at some point in the next few years, it'll happen.

Personally, I think adoption is something everyone should consider when planning a family - there are enough children in this world already, some in need of a loving home - without needlessly adding to it. But adoption is easier if you've had one of your own already, and some people are a bit funny about the topic

    Really?

I want kids eventually and I would definitely want a little girl just so I can be one of those amusingly over protective Dads and scare the living daylights out of would be boyfriends... And I'd be embarassing to; singing, dancing... basically like my Dad, who is nuts.

Again, I'd need to find the right lass first. Thought I had a while back but in typical fashion it went tits up.

"Babies are like Apple Macs - only those that have them reckon they're wonderful, and spend all their time trying to convince other people to have one"

The best (probably misquoted) quote ever from a stand up comedian I know - John Warburton.

I'm 31 and have a son who will be 9 years old next month. Sometimes it can really be very hard work, but would I change it? Not. On. Your. Life.

Despite the hard work, there's so much opportunity to have fun and do things you wouldn't be able to do on your own as an adult. Maybe it's just because I'm immature

It's certainly not for everybody, and I'm not one of those insufferable cretins that tries to convince people that's what they want, but if you're unsure you shouldn't feel obliged to state a decision just because someone can't think of anything else to talk about!

Re: So, have you decided on having kids someday?

I don't like children, so my answers pretty much a given at this stage

ALTHOUGH, when I realised earlier this year that I would be 20 next year, I felt old (well, at least some sense of maturity creeping in) and had a very strange vision of little 'uns

I don't want children, I really don't think I could cope and I also reckon I'd be a terrible influence on them

One last thing, GOATS have KIDS. HUMANS have CHILDREN. Get it right

    I can't agree more!

If you had asked me 3 years ago this question I would have said yes maybe someday. Having had one little boy with another due on the 30th of December. My thoughts on children have changed massively. There is no feeling in the world like being a parent.

Yes sure there are hard things that come with it, but I wouldn't change it for anything.
