Normally these type of worms get lodged somewhere in the intestines, but in this case it actually got into the brain.

Watched a programme on telly couple of weeks back - can't remember the programme's name or channel (but one of the Freeview ones).

Similar maggot-like creature from some kind of fly had lodged in a British woman's head from her travels to Central America. The 'overgrown' maggot was painlessly removed in the UK some weeks later by a method of suffocation with petroleum jelly - video link.
