I would like to buy a chair in the next couple of days. The landlord is paying for it (yay), but it also mean that I won't be able to go nut. Nothing that costs 3+ digits, and quite honestly, probably shouldn't cost much more than £30-35 (I am willing to chip in £10-15 if it would get something significantly better though). Given that I am not going to stay in this flat forever, the chair does.. not really need to last 10 years. It does however need to be reasonably comfortable (as much as the budget can buy) for the next 9-12 months.
I am not looking for a leather chair. I've bought a full sized leather chair from Viking's before for under £50, but and it was not as nice to work with than even the computer chairs at university. I am sure that for a lot more money I can get some great leather chairs, but it's not an option right now.
