I do not dispute that and stated as much in my OP.It's nowhere near as silly to blame him for the state of our own economy, though, or for the fact that we seem to be so poorly placed comparatively to deal with the mess.

Where in Spain are you headed? If it's the South there might be another solution!
No trees were harmed in the creation of this message. However, many electrons were displaced and terribly inconvenienced.
Seville, why does this make a difference? Here's a link to where it's being organised in case there's anything else that might change things:

Where? Your first post (#13) made no reference to economic policy at all, and the second post (which was the one I quoted) criticised Animus for his condemnation of Brown's economic policy.
TheAnimus saidand your (quoting) reply wasYou might find that the incredibly good economic policies of our talented PM whilst he was chacellor have put us in such a fantastically good economic situation that pretty much every stable currency is now 'poor value'.
What is truely staggering is when you consider what in effect the world markets are saying about the state of the pound in relation to the dollar. Given the pratice of the greenspan puts, this is incredible that we are still valued so poorly, compared to a completely broken currency.
Animus didn't say (as you asserted) that "every problem on the planet" was Brown's fault. He did say that Brown's economic handling as Chancellor has put us in this mess, and it has. That isn't a passive fault for failing to prevent something - it's an active fault for causing it.1. Either a Tory, someone very foolish, or both would blame the government for GLOBAL meltdown. As much as you want to blame Brown for every problem on the planet, everything isnt down to him. Yes, more shouldve been done to shield us but its just stupid to lay the blame like you have.
It's not just that more should have been done to shield us, it's that Brown personally and explicitly was responsible for directing so much of the factors that has led to our current poor ability to handle a worldwide situation. You said it's "just stupid" to lay the blame "like Animus did" when he didn't blame Brown for the international mess .... just our economy's ability to handle it.
The point is, there's a world of difference in the responsibility Brown would have for failing to take measures to shield us than he faces for actively, deliberately and over a long period running policies that put us in the mess we're in domestically. And I can for the life of me see where you got anywhere close to saying that in your OP.
