Donated last week as i fell its a very worthy cause.
Watched Ross Kemp and i really brought it home. MUch more realistic unlike warzone (channel Five) which is just propeganda.

My thoughts with all the guys and gals fighting out there.

I'll be honest, I won't donate, not because I don't appreciate the fact that soliders are out their fighting to protect us, but because quite frankly I have little faith in any charity to do more than a token effort.

Instead, I'll write to my MP to try and put pressure on the Minster of Health to ensure that soliders who are wounded in action recieve proper care and support, both overseas and later when they return home.

a token effort is what is needed sometimes. A token of someones thoughts, someone's concerns, can lift a low morale, boost a fragile character's hopes.

A token is just that. A token, of respect. I buy a poppy too. I can't pay some poor lasses mortgage, or buy a bloke with no legs a wheel chair. But I can say, without meeting them, that I am grateful for their massive contribution, and am happy to share a little, along with thousands of thoer people, to try to show my gratitude.

I applaud the fact that you will take the time to write to your MP - I have had to contact mine in the past and he has been very helpful. In fact the more people that do maybe the better it will get.

I respect your decision not to donate (I guess it is difficult to know which charities do good and which ones don't) but as Zak said sometimes just a small token can help so much.

For the record, I am an ill veteran from the first Gulf War.
