Magazines - Outdated?

i would like to buy magazines still, but a lot has to change, possibly to a closer to newspaper style. its no good having 3 week old info anymore, needs to be either up to the minute or above and beyond on the analytical side so people dont mind it being a touch old, and anyway, half of it is linking whats already gone to whats happening so it shouldn't be a big thing

Thats why I like Wired for computing/tech. They don't really do "news" like the normal computing magazines. You can pick up just about any issue and it either interests you or not.

I always used to buy magazines because I travel a lot - nothing better than just relaxing with an interesting article to read!
But I also find (like many others) that the website version of magazines is nothing compared to the magazine itself (custompc website is a case in point). I really don't think any website can beat a good magazine article, but maybe thats just me..
The only thing that discourages me is the price of the things - I used to read Edge near religously until it hit £4.50 an issue, which for me is a little bit too pricey, especially as a student.
