Gaming Magazines

Does anyone actually buy gaming magazines any more? I have stopped because I don't want to spend like £5-£6 on one (no subs) for a 10 min flick though. Any new game or opinion I can get on the Internet, Hexus or my RSS feeds. Readers letters are sometimes interesting, but a forums has a whole wealth of 'readers letters'.

PC ones are different because sometimes there are articles which are interesting to read on how to do stuff. But again I don't really invest in those either.

Yes I do, but not every issue. I find the writing and some of the articles to be top quality, but I don't buy them for reviews (unless it's a game I've had some involvement in somehow).

I buy Edge and GamesTM every now and again, usually if I'm going on a long train journey.

I haven't for years. Probably last mag I bought was EDGE. I remember good old days of PC Format and the double 3.5" floppies they used to come with. Then the double CD's loads and loads of demos, but yep since then the internet pretty much covers everything you need. Pity though coz it's always a bit more interesting having a proper print in your hands. To be honest I would still buy the mags now if it wasn't that pricey.

I got a free one from Zinio each month (online magazine) from an offer they had a while ago (including Audiophile, a cinema one and a US gents mag (I think its maxim))

All free, wouldnt pay for them though

Had a PCZone sub for years, still going strong, for some reason I still don't trust them internets!

Indeed. A gaming and LAN website I visit have even started to release gaming magazines in a pdf format so if you've got a PDF reader on your netbook/mobile then these can be read on the move.

It beats paying for the same material on paper doesn't it

I used to get them for the demo's back when I was back on 56k. Haven't bought one since the broadband revolution!

The last one i bought had the demo for metal gear solid on the front.

Any info's online now so just don't bother.

No more hard copy for me, save my pocket as well as saving the planet. I usually visit online review site and downloading pdf format to read on my tablet PC.

No, its not a gaming magazine.

I used to get that, but it became very same old quickly.

it contains hardware aimed at games playing blatantly aimed at games playing

and, well at least the last time i go it, had a glossy cover, which is nice. you don't get that with fudzilla
