Ovation Standard Balladeer 1861 - Super Shallow

Hi, just received my dream guitar the other day.

The Ovation Standard Balladeer 1861 Super Shallow in Cherry Burst.

Because this very model is not available anywhere in Europe, I had to order it from USA.
Found a retailer in San Diego / California who ships internationally and accepts PayPal.
The only downside was the import tax of 19% of the purchasing price I did not consider.
The gentleman from UPS charged me £153.- extra on delivery.




I was after the guitar case Ovation 8217 but it was not available anymore, so I chose the model 8117 instead (above).

The Bowl

The roundback bowl design is the distinguishing feature of the Ovation guitar.
The Lyrachord composite semi-parabolic design creates a guitar that is durable and rugged.
More that that - it is louder, more focused, and provides greater projection than standard 'box' guitars.

Deep Bowl - The deep bowl size produces the fullest acoustic sound with deep bass presence.
The larger size gives room for the creation of a penetrating acoustic tone favored by acoustic players, though the deep bowl configuration still matches up equally when plugged in.

Mid-Depth - The mid-depth bowl is the perfect blend between the deep bowl and super shallow options.
The smaller size fits some players more comfortably, but the mid-depth retains impressive tone projection while playing acoustic.

Super Shallow - This slimmed down option gives you a clear acoustic sound, while allowing for an extremely comfortable feel and ease of playing.

Hi this is Stacey and today I’m gonna tell you about my new guitar uhm, I’m not very good at playing the guitar but I’m definitely learning and definitely trying and I wanna tell ya how much I love this guitar.
Let me gonna open it up for you … this is my Ovation … from what I’m understanding it’s very popular, trying to get this out here, this is the Balladeer by ovation uhm, and it says it’s made in Korea, and I will show you a little bit, here, it’s very nice, it’s lightweight which I like because I’m a little girl, and I can’t play with something that’s too heavy, you see it’s got the nice rounded back for the best sound, and uhm, it’s right over here all the settings for the treble, the mid, the bass, the volume, so you know, you can go ahead and take advantage of those settings as well, I’ll go ahead and show you I’m not good at all I can’t play I’m just learning but … I mean it plays … really good uhm, I’m sure you if could play with some better, … but like I said I’m just learning and I’m not very good at it, it’s something that I’m practicing on, and eventually I hope to be really good at. And then maybe on my next review when I have a different guitar I’ll be able to play it for you. But I wanted you to be able to see the Ovation, it’s definitely a good buy, like I said, it’s got the round back which makes for really good sound, it’s got all the settings here, and it’s basically a very nice guitar, it’s lightweight like I said, so if you’re a little girl like me, you can hold it, maneuver it, and don’t have to worry about it, but uhm, ya Like I said, try the Ovation, it’s really nice, I like it, I’ll show you a little bit here on the neck, so you can see how nice it is, next time you’re up for a guitar, try the Ovation, it’s definitely my pick, byee.
