I have days like that, usually more so if I am tired, but there are just times that even after getting 8-9 hours sleep each night it can still be just as bad.

Mind you the last 8 months have been working my arse off trying to succede in my business. Am actually going to take a week off next month, the first holiday in probably 12 months.

Now you have gone and done it. Today will be the best day of your life. It will end with you feeling happy and satisfied.

The rest of us were dealing with life fine this morning.
Then we all saw your thread an the barriers came crashing down.

It's very rare that I care about a persons problem unless it directly affects me. Also, it's very rare that I don't get irritated by at least 5 people on a daily basis - is it just me or do people do incredibly stupid things all the time?

Re: Days when you think "I really just don't care"

Can't say that I had many days when I felt like that Jay. Worked in last job for just under 43 years and enjoyed nearly every minute of it . I used to hear a lot of guys moaning about the job but I just used to tell them "it's a great job". I feel that life's too short not to have a 'positive outlook' on whatever your doing as there is always someone worse off than yourself.

Well, a week and a half ago I was watching Moby playing Space in Ibiza and now I am here at my desk at work.

I have only been back a week and already am feeling the need to book some leave, hehe. Its not because the job is bad because in fact I quite like it I am just so knackered at the moment and just can't get my sleeping patterns sorted. Been up until 3am at least every night this week and just can't seem to break the cycle. Today I rolled in at 11am... doh!

Curious, one of the people I am working with at work on an Excel Project went to Ibiza about a week and a half ago. Small world, well not really... but yeah.

Re: Days when you think "I really just don't care"

I've had that a lot for the last three months. The bus route I spend 80% of my time controlling ran pretty well from about February to May- since then it's been crap every single day. I get days where I come home, go to bed, and then can't sleep because late running buses haunt my dreams.

But, y'know, my job is to deal with it when the roads get bad and the buses are all late. I work hard and do my best. But when the managers in the next grade up from me walk in, see the control screen, and then start on about what's wrong at that moment, why three buses running together is bad, and generally how to suck eggs, it really, REALLY grates. Until now I've sucked it up. But from chatting to other controllers, I've discovered that they've all had it up to here with the interference. So next time the sarcasm will be employed. It's childish, but TBH it's got to the stage where I don't really care if I get chucked back to driving buses rather than controlling them. I'm not going to stop doing my job to the best of my ability, but I am going to stop pretending that I give a toss about the idiots who think they can do my job better than me.

Non-farm payroll was fun yesterday, few of our traders were shorting the dollar early part of yesterday afternoon and got burned when it surged on figures not as bad as expected. Server usage spikes and they start moaning about the server performance to us - i just had to laugh at their moaning! muhahah
