    Monitor desk arm!!

Can anyone suggest a monitor arm to hold a 22" samsung 226bw screen ? I have looked on amazon and other places but with so much choice not sure what's good and what is bad. If anyone owns the same monitor I have then you know the stand on it is pants!! The monitor arm will be fitted to a glass table. Price max for me is about £40!! Might go higher but would avoid if possible.

I had considered thihttp://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...pf_rd_i=468294s, but one customer mentioned he would liek more hight.

Thought about a VESA wall mount?

Can get them for small screens from £10 for a basic one to around £30 as one on an arm/split arm

    Re: Monitor desk arm!!

Then why not get a pivot to put the monitor on instead of faffing on with replaceing the mounting system?

Do you mean some kind of box thing?? If so I have looked around and did buy a box stand thing from Staples but it was too flimsy. Others on amzon look cheap and nasty!! Or too expensive e.g this !!

So a monitor arm looks like the next best thing.

that is abit pricey, i've found along with my work colleagues that a couple of old programming books or an empty quality street tin, does just the job of raising the monitors

    Re: Monitor desk arm!!

I got myself a Cable Mountain "Vertical TFT Monitor/TV Desk Arm Clamp": http://www.amazon.co.uk/Vertical-Mon.../dp/B001B7DT5E

Cracking bit of kit, well recommended. Held my 22" monitor well, frees up space underneath it and feels sturdy enough to take a larger monitor should there be the need.

    Re: Monitor desk arm!!

Build yourself a second computer into one of these and put the monitor on that? That way you can have a nice low-powered box for web browsing and only turn the power-sucking gaming monstrosity on when you want to - you know, game.

(incidentally, that's the set up I have at home with a 20" CRT monitor on it, so the case could definitely take it...)

Correct! Got one from a company called 'Neo-flex', and it was exactly what I was looking for.
