Pah! You should have tried lifting my dual phase change case. 40-45Kg! Them were the days.
Suffice to say I never took it to any LANs for some reason!

Your Pc - newish and raring to go
Monitor - i'll need to borrow one.
Keyboard/Mouse - yup
Headphones + extention cable if needed! (note to self) - erm, make that £180 i need then.
4 Way power lead - yup
Kettle leads for said pc + monitor - yup
Games - not yet
Sleeping bag/stuff - see a bit later on in this post

shower stuff - why? i smell nice enough
wallet - no money, so why do i need this?
There is catering on site, but its always advisable to bring some food/drinks in. (There is a 24 hour tesco literally 2 min drive away) - oh thats what the wallets for. i'll price up cake later.

Tips: Take part and have fun - try new games - Socialise - tit about a bit - its a weekend of hedonism for a reason, make the most of it (but act responsibly too... there's a difference between having fun and being an irritating plonker)

i'll remember to smirk now and again, maybe say hello, even willing to try the LAN juice and maybe some bacon cookies

Ahhh fair enough, well in that case, bring an extra pillow for your back, as the chairs are not that comfy after several hours, OR if you have got space bring your own

I was going to ask what the chairs were like. what type are they? wood? swively? cloth? padded?

and how big is the boot in madducks car?

Also take an air-bed if you have one, otherwise something to use as a matress. After a few days if you don't you will feel broken!

are you allowed to sleep in your chair, or curl up in a ball next to it? i'm a little bit paranoid about leaving any of my stuff in strange places, i need to be close enough to keep an eye out incase anyone tampers with it (ive seen the pictures). is there room under the desk for a 6ft not very flexible person?



I'm lining some stuff up to get money, it's just a question of how quickly it happens.

Another 40 player one; not sure about a couple of games in that list (NFS or Borderlands).

You can sleep in the main room by your PC, but as I'm sure Al will tell you, unless you've passed out from alcohol, it ain't that comfortable! Considering we had a whole race course of caravaners at the last LAN and nothing went missing, you can say it's pretty safe. There's a "night shift", although there's usually some people playing something to the wee hours of the morning anyway.

As for what the chairs are like, they should be in a few of the pictures.

Yep 24 hours a day there is at least 1 member of the Gameon staff on duty.

I also wasnt usually going to bed until 6/7am each morning, so your stuff is safe.

Yes it worked perfectly this time on my pc! It just hates my laptop!
Its wierd it can handle much more intensive games than that, and even plays DIRT fine,
And that uses pretty much the same engine as GRID, its just rally instead of race.


+ Rai, yes you DEF need GRID! Its mandatory.
