Outside of the very premium brands they are all made by the same factories and just badged with whatever brand - my landlord bought the cheapest of the cheap washing machine and it was identical to a recognisable brand he had previously bought for ~£400, both performed perfectly well. So I reckon either pay out for a Miele or otherwise get a cheap one.

Now it says it's in stock on their website, but it's a lot cheaper than everywhere else for this model, so I just want to check on the phone before I place the order and then have to wait 2 weeks to be told we're not getting it!Originally Posted by Pixmania
Wonder if Scan sell washing machines....
I've had TERRIBLE experiences with Pixmania and would never buy anything from them, ever again

BTW, can a bad (or old) washing machine make your clothes *dusty*?
I am not sure if it is just the flat, or a problem with the washing machine, but sometime after my clothes is dry, and I tap on it, I see dust fly all over the place =/
Mr TooNice seems to be suggesting that dust remains on his clothes after washing, which is noticeable when they dry and it taps off - I'm no expert in these things (you're the plumber, right? ) but if the filter needs cleaning then I'd have thought one of the side effects is a higher chance of fluff making it back to the clothes rather than draining away even for just a washer. Of course if the filter gets completely blocked then you get other problems.
Not sure if your looking for a washing machine or washer drier. If you can get separate machines, my experience of washer driers is they turn cold wet cloths into warm wet ones. A separate drier has a much larger drum on it so can tumble the clothes a lot better, drying them faster and more cheaply. To a lesser extent you also get a better washing machine as it does not have to be so complex. Personally I use a washing line whenever possible as this if free to use.
Beko, they make great machines and cheap!
