i've tried to use the previous version numerous times but it's never actually worked.. is this already available? cos you've put the title as "iPlayer for Wii tomorrow" but the article says "From tomorrow, Wii owners will be able to download a new, free version of the BBC iPlayer", but it's dated as the 16th of november.

ive downloaded it but havent used it.
in watch iplayer on my ps3.
yeah, just plugged my Wii in and set it up and stuff, the "app" can be downloaded from the "wii shop channel" for free, it's on the main page atm so pretty easy to find.
and it works VERY well, really fast and very responsive.
quality's a bit of a let down if plugged into a HDTV though but definitely watchable!
cheers for telling me about this
Yup; not the best quality, only to be expected, but does the job nicely.
Yep - I tried it too and it seems to work no problem - dead easy to use. As has been said above, quality isn't fantastic, but it's ok for casual viewing.
Might try this out tomorrow, usually use the media centre, but mouse 4tl.
It's pretty bad when this is one of the recent highlights of the wii.
I've not turned mine on for going on a year now, as a social loner there's nothing on it that really makes me want to play it now.
I think it's amazing tbh.
It's close to becoming a "TV" unit for my bedroom cos I realyl didn't want a ful blown SFF PC in thereas I'd need a keyboard and mouse etc.
So the Wii having this fuinction is, for me, good as gold. With Opera instaled on it too, I can surf to a moderate level and watch my favouurite stuff with one Wii mote

is it even possible to connect the Wii up through any other method?
the quality though, more than good enough on the Wii. definitely watchable .
the really good thing about it though, as Zak had mentioned, is the fact it's all done through one really small little remote .
and the Wii is pretty much silent too
At last, perhaps I've found a reason to use my Wii - will be very handy as the Wii is upstairs in the loft room and the TV is just terrestial aerial.
Cheers,
NIgel
