    Re: Hexus Constituency Election!

I'll be voting Lib Dem- I like them more than any other party, but I'm still not amazingly keen. However, in a first past the post system, in the vast majority of constituencies it's a two horse race- and round here it's Labour Vs Lib Dem. Only the Lib Dems have any chance at all of unseating the sitting Labour MP; the Tories lost the seat in 1992, and given demographic changes over the last 18 years will now come a distant third.

So my advice is- check out the demographics for your area- in a lot of cases your vote will count for sod all anyway, and there are a tiny handful of constituencies where it is a genuine three horse race- but in most cases it's a simple choice- challenger vs incumbent. If you're a smart voter, you'll find out and vote accordingly.

Say you're a natural Labour voter in a seat which will be a contest between a Lib Dem and a Tory- a vote for Labour will be a waste, you should choose who out of the Lib Dems or Tories you dislike least, and vote accordingly. Same if you're a Lib Dem in a seat that's straight Tory vs Labour- make your choice and vote accordingly.

First Past The Post sucks IMO, but it's what we're stuck with, and you might as well vote to make a difference, given that you'll actually expend time and effort going to the polling station.

Ok do you think we should send all the foreign workers home? If so why do you think every other country should not do the same. Perhaps all the white people in Australia should be forced to come back too not being native, and those americans most are of European or African decent, they should be force to leave too.... Its going to get a little crowded here. Thats the problem with this arguments, they work if only one side does it however as soon as you look at it from an equal point of view you see the short commings of the concept.

... god i hope you are joking, if you aren't, i am ashamed you are in my age group, and will actually consider having an iq test requirement for under 21's to vote to be a good idea.

And the fact that us English, aren't even from here haha, we are based from everywhere in the world, and really the Irish, Scots and Welsh own this land more then us, so really we have no right to kick anyone out for not being native.

Not when it infringes on other peoples freedoms, and when the opinion is to illegally remove others that have an opinion also from the country, if you get an opinion why don't they?
