Angry Orange website : A joke

Its anything from not being able to log in, to not being able to get access to certain parts of the site, or littered with "try again later" messages.

Im so pee'd off. How can a company of this size have a website thats so poor.
In the last 3 months, ive probably used the site about 15 times, of which id guess 10 of those visits have resulted in 'site problem' messages.

    What a joke.

SLightly OT but I'm also pretty peeved with Orange at the moment. I've had my P800 on contract with them for 14 months now, but for an upgrade to the P900 they want £350! WTF does loyalty count for anyway, not to mention the fact that's not much more than I had to pay 14 months ago!

As soon as the K700 arrives, I'm hot footing it down the road to Vodafone.

Have to disagree, I went in the other week and was gonna sign up, they took 20 minutes before I got served to start with (which aint gr8 when you have 1 hour lunch), then I said

"well in this months mag, you have an introduce a friend and receive £50 for yourself and £25 for new member offer, I have a friend on orange who would like to introduce me and receive this, do you have a form I can take away and get him to fill in?",

    "err, no sorry",

"well could you mail me one?"

"err no sorry you would have to come in and get one"

"when will you have them in"

    "err I dont know"

I mean yeah like I am gonna go in again and wait 20 minutes to get that sort of service you have gotta be joking.

I used to work on orange.net and orange.co.uk.. They have never been the most reliable sites. Its a case of to many hands and one patch over another. It was always overloaded too as it used JSP which is very cpu intensive. I think it may have had a bit of a change now but is still likly to be in need of an overhall.

I spent 6 months in Dublin, and used a company called Meteor - now that's a proper site, its really excellent for PAYG people - it gave you an online bill, of every top up, text and call - amazing

The orange one sucks, you can't get any bill on PAYG and on contract, its a stupid PDF thing that never works half the time

hmm is O2 or Voda REALLY better? I have a 6600 on Orange and I will be taking out a second contract to get a 6230 just so I can phase out the 6600 contract, but its not on orange till mid may, voad and o2 have it now is it worth it?

The orange shops are crap imo, the customer service tho is second to none. At least its free to call them.

O2's website is often down too - at least the shop and billing parts are. Best thing for O2 though - I recently upgraded my handset and apparently the ONLY way for them to do this is take all your personal details - including password, etc and they log onto an internal / test version of the website where the handset upgrade page is available because apparently their website has no idea if you've already upgraded / the last time you upgraded and would happily hand you out a new phone every day.

I'm with o2, and their website is also pants! Its very rare that i can log on and get my account details without something going wrong somewhere!

Like someone said above, you would think companies of their size would actually have a reliable website, especially as quite a bit of their service is via the www!

    oh well

Whatever you do don't go through phones 4u - I got scummed both times I used them. I should have learnt the first time I guess

Never had a problem with orange; even when my phone broke they sent a courier out the next day with a new one I think if I had the same problem now I probably wouldn't get a replacement for a week or two - going back to Ornage in May.

    Orange's excahnge is CRAP now.
£6 a month for insurance, which INCLUDES manufacturer replacement, i.e. if you buy a phone from orange and you are not on thier insurance then you have to deal with the repair yourself, direct with the manufacturer.

Not only that, the insurance has a £15 administration fee per claim and insurance can only be taken out for a minimum 12 month contract.

Thats the main reason I am thinking of going elsewhere, it just cost me £25 in postage fees and £130 for a spare phone so that I actually had a phone whilst Nokia repaired mine.

These companies are starting to seriously taketh the pitheth now.
