Spectacular pictures. I didn't know the name of the volcano and thought that you bashed the keyboard on your head until I saw the link!

The photos are great, I want some of them as desktop wallpapers. I dont think I will use number 10 as that guys jumper is horrible

EDIT: Sim, the lightning is caused by the bits of glass and ash and all the other stuff in the plume rubbing together like mad, creating static electricity - exactly the same process as used in dual component (toner & developer) laser printers. The bits rub against each other and become charged (Triboelectrification) and discharge to earth in the form of huuuuge arcs, or lightning
