Oh certainly, I cant speak any other languages, tried and failed and I still manage to struggle with English sometimes.
I respect anyone who learns a 2nd language. Especially anyone who learns English, they're doing me a massive favour.

@Kumagoro: How long have you studied Japanese and how many Kanji characters have you covered?
I think i would find it very hard to talk any of their languages!!
I can't stand talking to people from the far east. Their English is pigeon at best.
Every time I've had to make a call to our service support team at work for all our tills and printers has resulted in me either loosing my temper because it has taken the best part of 20 minutes just spell our address so they can send an engineer from Plymouth to come and replace the faulty device.
I know it's not their fault, but its just so annoying because you end up repeating yourself over and over, and it doesn't matter how slowly you spell it out for them, they STILL don't understand. That said maybe my Cornish accent doesn't help.
I remember when the service desk called us last week, I couldn't understand a word they were speaking and in the end I just hung up on them.
I haven't got anything against someone from the far east, I just wish they could speak better English.
TooNice, I have never formally studied Japanese but I started years ago like in 1999 or something.
I learned most when living in Japan but I was only there a year and I think you need two years
there to learn it competently. I learned up to yon nensei level which I guess is about 800. I have
forgotten most though I reckon, it just slips away over the years.
