The thank button is remarkably close to the quote button . Spit while not being very nice is generally not infection unless you get it right in the eye or even in an open wound, which even then its remarkably rare to pick anything. But I would prefer pies, has a much better entertainment value.

I remember seeing a Premiership player (forget who, but it was probably El Hadji Diouf) spit in the mouth of another player, Arjan De Zeeuw, a few years back... was absolutely revolting.

I know it's all about amounts (I seem to recall that you'd need to swallow several pints of HIV-positive saliva to get infected), but nonetheless, the point is that there's a big difference between getting food in your face and someone else's bodily fluids in your face.

If the pie is not stored properly you could probably get food poisoning especially if the filling has cream and/or eggs in it!

Of course if the pie was just rank in the first place imagine how you would smell after a pieing?

I can say that i have been spat in the face, and it ended exactly the same way... spitting at someone is about as disgusting as possible, and the only real course of action is to give the person spitting at you a good kicking...

I'm a liberal, and also a hygiene freak. I would instinctively beat the crap out of anyone who deliberately spat in my face.

But equally I don't think I've ever accused a bunch of youths of being criminals. I just used to refuse them free travel on my bus.

Just looking at that it’s a bad situation for all, the BNP guy asked a stupid question but spit at anyone and you are going to get a bad reaction. To be honest though if someone spat at me I may be pretty annoyed as well if someone asked if I or my friends where robbers we would say "none of us" and laugh at him. I am white and from Liverpool and I get the old "rob my radio" jokes all the time... I just laugh, I don't spit at them and If an asian or black person asked me I wouldn't think it was a racist question either. Why wouldn't I spit at them? Well for a number of reasons, first I don't think I have the right to do so (unlike some people) and I don't think I can legally get away with it (unlike some people)

I agree with zero tollerance of race issues as long as it fair and equal. Race should never be an issue, impartial judgment should and that means if you are green, blue or purple from Mars, Jupiter or Pluto as long as its fair then its fair.
