Many electrochemical sensors use band electrodes, or 'microband' electrodes when the width dimension is less than 100 microns. Maybe a 'miliband' is a band electrode of width dimension on the order of millimeters.
I agree, and don't. Kinda.
I agree it doesn't matter and must be a slow news day. I'm not convinced it's about graciousness though. It could be that that's it, it could be that that's part of it, and it could be that that's nothing to do with it but is a convenient spin.
I think what we can assume is that whatever D Miliband's motivation, he won't want to damage the party, so whether it's about being gracious, whether it's about avoiding being used to speculate about splits or whether it's because he seriously disagrees with his brother's direction, or whether it's some combination of all of them, I think we know two and only two things :-
- only David actually knows, and
- whatever the truth, they'll spin it in the most beneficial way.
It could be anything from the complete unvarnished truth to utter bullpoop, and we have no way of knowing. And personally, I don't much care either. If he's out of front line politics, then he's out of front line politics, and I don't much care why.
Well to answer the question, "what is a Millband a measure of?" "a Millband is clearly a measure of the closeness of a shave."

I suppose it could be something obvious, say, a measure of people in a band....
On second thoughts, all that's going to lead to is "How many milibands are in status quo ?"
