There's no such thing as the midlands, there's just north and south and a few wishy washy brummies who can't make their minds up.

Fair enough - then everything below the top line must be the south

Nah, I've been Manchester and Leeds, definately funny talking buggers with the barm cakes and whatnot.

    Northern, without a doubt.

Anywhere south of watford gap is south - there's even a sign that says so.

The map does not lie!!! They talk odd in the Midlands too, you know (and Leeds just scrapes into the North on my map...)

And frankly, fin would probably complain that my line for the north is much too far south - I know my wife would...

oh, and p.s. - although it's hard to see, the line separating Midlands and South on that map runs almost exactly through Watford Gap - it might be just a couple of miles too far north: but pretty much we can all agree on that one I think

Exactly, the midlands is just another part of the north.

Any place which has place names which need to be pronounced like your suffering from a severe chest infection, and has a ratio of people to sheep of 1:3 (source: R1 this morning) isn't really worth mentioning

Interesting that Devon and Cornwall have dropped off the map entirely.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

It's southern if they pronounce an 'e' as an 'a'

    Case in point, Berkshire

All the best food is from the north..

    Cumberland sausage.
    Yorkshire pudding.

Would a Sunday be any good if both of those were missing?
