Hi,

I had a cold call the other day regarding advertising in a newsletter and the guy was trying to put words in my mouth to agree to accept it and at one point I said I will think about it, but I didn't agree to wanting an advert at all - he was saying the money goes to a charity called 'Foresters' Fund For Children' and to look at their website telling me to Google 'fffc', so I did when I got off the phone.

I didn't agree to anything to advertise in this so called newsletter but I received a call litterally 2 minutes after and had been through a few pages seeing how it is all a scam. The woman on the phone said that I had agreed to pay for the advert and they would send me a preview of it before. I said I had not agreed to anything whatsoever and that I am not interested so I thought that was that.

Still, about half an hour later the original guy phoned up, but I was not around at the time so somebody else answered the phone and told him that I am not interested and think it's a scam - the guy quickly hung up.

Still though, from what I've read they are known to send invoices out to people who haven't agreed to have one in the first place! not only that but the guy who owns the owner of the company who called me (Vardis) has a so called debt recovery agency in his name too and threatens legal action sometimes, but doesn't take anyone to court because obviously it's all a con.

Just to let you know about this rediculous scam and Varis' tactics to try and get people to pay money.
