    Duckzilla scared my dog!

Took Max for a mooch down to Ellesmere ( Shropshire ) yesterday, local beauty spot described as the Shropshire lake district, I grew up around these parts and it's truly stunning

We were having a lovely time paddling in the mere until Duckzilla ran Max out of the water squakking and flapping his wings

Max tried to get back in, but Duckzilla was soon back 'wiv da heavies'

The Geese didn't like him either

    The swans weren't fussed

Well earned rest after all that malarkey

I guessed, was just pulling your leg

Does your dog go diving? Back when my labrador (short and stocky working breed one) was still alive she would love to go diving for rocks when down at the river

She never got the same rocks... but she still enjoyed doing it, not sure if it's a one off as I haven't heard of other dogs doing it.

    Awww bless her

Max is in no fit state to be diving.... He forgot he's not a young dog anymore and tried bouncing about in the mere with a couple of pups, could barely walk today, and lost his footing coming down the stairs... I'm always worried about dysplasia, but we took him to the vet who said it's normal wear and tear for a dog his age ( he's 9 ) and to rest him!

Leave him alone, the geese in Ellesmere are fierce. They managed to chase me off once

It was the first time ever he decided to chase after a stick, he's never shown interest in sticks whatsoever... The vet said no sign of dysplasia thank goodness, he'd pulled a tendon in his leg, after a few days rest he's back to himself.... made us realise he's not getting any younger though and want to help his joints a bit, he's got kibble with glucosamine, and i'm going to ask the vet if he can have seraquin supplements alongside his epiphen, he may say he won't need it alongside the glucosamine, but just want to check it would be safe...Jon's also ordered him a magnotherapy bed.

    One spoilt bloody dog!
