Actually, try searching for Mario trombone quartet; it's a bit of a craze among trombonists. I've actually written my own arrangement of it which unfortunately I've yet to have a chance to perform.
No, we don't have anything better to do

Not usually a fan of trombones, but this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRSA48Njh7o made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.. Pure mastery of an instrument... and a fantastic piece too.

Despite coming from a musical background (Piano and Violin) I still fail to see how people know how how far to place the tubing for notes! Especially if you get older, don't you have to adjust?! I guess its one of those things you learn to adapt to.
Brilliant classical piece of music there.
There are various cues you use, for example 3rd and 4th positions are marked by the slide lock and the top of the slide respectively being level with the bell, while 7th position is as far as you can reach and 1st is obviously just at the top. The leaves 2nd, 5th and 6th positions, which you just have to get good a tuning by ear; this makes pieces in keys such as B natural a challenge because you're almost never going to be in the 'definite' positions and can gradually lose your tuning as you play as your positions get sloppy, unless you've got an accompanist to take references from.
And yes, having started aged 9, when I couldn't even reach 6th position at full stretch, I've had to alter my technique over the years as may arms have got longer.

You made the awe go away now Powderhound. Just a boring instrument with markers on now!
No, the awe kicks in when we play epic improvised plunger solos while heavily inebriated in shady Krakow jazz clubs...
The best kind I went on tour with our orchestra in 2002.... I remember being out on the last night, waiting for the trams to start at something to 5 in Prague, then being woken up at 7 with the bus waiting for us. Only thing after that I clearly remember was having the munchies big time waiting to cross the Czech/German border.... What a holiday
